Give your teeth the attention they deserve.

Preventative Dentistry is centered around the ongoing maintenance of your teeth and gums.

Sealant
A sealant is a tooth-colored plastic material that is usually applied to back permanent teeth to cover the tiny grooves on the biting surfaces of our teeth. Oftentimes, these tiny grooves cannot be reached by the bristles of a toothbrush and food particles accumulate, resulting in decay. The sealant creates a slippery surface barrier that prevents the buildup of the food particles, which simply slide off of the tooth’s surface, preventing decay.

Fluoride
Fluoride is a natural mineral found in our environment. It is used in many dental products applied directly to the teeth to reverse early signs of decay. Prevention of decay is further achieved because it bonds itself to the tooth surface, making the tooth more resistant to future decay. During continuing care visits, we may apply fluoride directly to the teeth in the form of a gel, foam, or rinse, so that you can receive its benefits.

Comprehensive Examination

We thoroughly examine the head, neck, and surrounding structures outside of the mouth in conjunction with reviewing what’s inside. There are some underlying issues that can initially manifest themselves in these areas, so the comprehensive review is necessary to confirm a healthy status. We check for any disorders with your TMJ, which can have many underlying effects including migraines, muscle soreness, and sensitive teeth, if undetected.
